The is a cover of Lullabye (Goodnight My Angel) by Billy Joel.
The piano you hear in the background is played by Youtube user pianojohn113 and is used with his written permission. I really love his version of this song - it has a slower tempo than the original, and also has a bit more jazzy flair.

I get a little tired sometimes of people who say that Rock Band vocalists can't sing, and also of the people who think singing "well" is how you get perfect scores in any karaoke video game. It's just not true.
I'm not the most talented singer in the world - I'm a mediocre singer at best, but I can manage much better than what I show in most of my Rock Band and SingStar gameplay videos; hence this performance.

100% Gold Star Expert Vocals performance on Texas Flood by Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble, as it appears in Rock Band 2 for PlayStation 3.
As per the rules of the challenge, the original vocals by Stevie Ray Vaughan are muted, and my microphone is turned up so the only vocals you hear are my own.
This video posted by request from Nettacki and BassManiac07.
This is a textbook example of how to almost fail to get a perfect 100% in Rock Band on vocals. I am breaking every single rule here - Im not singing completely in-time, Im not matching pitch, Im deviating from the melody, and Im just doing the bare minimum to meet the scoring requirements in order to give myself the breathing room to add some emotion to this performance.
If any of you out there hum this song or sing it like a robot just to get 100%, I will personally reach through the screen and slap the stupid out of you until you learn better. Texas Flood [Rock Band 2] 100% Expert Vocals](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/juMwHbnEORU/mqdefault.jpg)

100% Gold Star Expert Vocals performance on Cheeseburger in Paradise by Jimmy Buffett as it appears in Rock Band 2 for PlayStation 3.
As per the rules of the challenge, the original vocals by Jimmy Buffett are muted, and my microphone is turned up so the only vocals you hear are my own.
Living in Florida means of course that Im a big fan of Jimmy Buffetts music, and its doubly nice that I have almost exactly the same singing range as he does. This is one of the easiest and most enjoyable videos Ive done for my channel in quite some time, enough so that I was able to do a little bit of improvisation on the melody while staying inside the scoring guidelines.

![Are You Dead Yet? [Rock Band 2] 100% Expert Vocals
100% Gold Star Expert Vocals performance on Are You Dead Yet? by Children of Bodom, as it appears in Rock Band 2 for PlayStation 3.
As is customary with my videos, the original vocals by Alexi Laiho are muted so you can hear what Im singing (or in this case, attempting to growl).
So Ive been doing a lot of videos with talky parts since my return from hiatus, and while I still cant scream worth anything, I figure with such a low vocal range Id have a decent death metal growl.
Enter this video, which is my attempt at practicing my growling technique. I dont really like to do even this, since it still hurts my vocal cords a bit, but I think as long as I dont overdo, it should be OK.
Aside from that, this song is pretty easy pitch-wise. The chorus is slightly different each time, though not enough to matter for most people - you can basically sing it the same way every time and score them all because the differences are too small to make you lose combo. Oh, and the guitar in this song is totally epic.
So be honest and tell me what you think of my growling. Good, bad, or ugly? Are You Dead Yet? [Rock Band 2] 100% Expert Vocals](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/lIwDeSfdiEs/mqdefault.jpg)
![Green Hex Farming Ch5 [Resonance of Fate] (spoiler)
This is a spoiler video for Resonance of Fate (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360).
One of the things you need to do a lot of in this game is grinding/farming for items, especially colored energy hexes. This is a neat method I found in Chapter 5. Its still punishingly slow, but its ...well... less slow than any other method Ive heard of, and you can do it much earlier than most people think.
The audio commentary Ive included covers most of the points; if you dont have this game, its not going to make a whole lot of sense, but the game mechanics of Resonance of Fate defy any sort of quick explanation.
Please let me know if you have questions, and/or would like to see more videos of this nature from me covering other games (I buy quite a lot of games for my PlayStation 3). Green Hex Farming Ch5 [Resonance of Fate] (spoiler)](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/lPXfhVpBZkM/mqdefault.jpg)

100% Gold Star Expert Vocals performance on El Scorcho by Weezer, as it appears in Rock Band 2 for PlayStation 3.
As is customary with my videos, the original vocal track by Rivers Cuomo is minimized so you can hear what Im singing (and thats pretty important on this song because you sure cant hear what youre supposed to be singing clearly because of all the backup singers in harmony).
This song is listed in Rock Band 2 as tier 0/Apprentice difficulty on vocals. Harmonix would have you believe this song is, therefore, easy to pass.
All I can say is that someone at Harmonix must have found a stash of hallucinogenic mushrooms or something when they decided to rate this song on vocals. El Scorcho easily deserves at least Challenging/4 dots, regardless of what difficulty you play at. Its full of off-key notes, gigantic pitch jumps, harmony singing, strange cadences, the works. If it were much faster it would be one of the most difficult songs in the game, but the very slow tempo is the only thing that keeps everything manageable (sort of). 100% Gold Star Expert Vocals performance on Dont Stop Believing by Journey as it appears in Rock Band 2 for PlayStation 3.
As per the rules of the challenge, the original vocals by Steve Perry are muted, and my microphone is turned up so the only vocals you hear are my own.
This song got requested by many, many, many people, and for good reason. Its amazing, classic, and everyone knows it.
Its easy to sing, has a relatively small range, and doesnt have too many quirks or oddities. It can be hard to perform live in front of an audience, however, since the vocals are very much dominant and you cant rely on the instruments to cover any mistakes. Theres also a lot of long sustained notes which can be hard for inexperienced singers to maintain.

![Moving to Seattle [Rock Band 2] 100% Expert Vocals
100% Gold Star Expert Vocals performance on Moving to Seattle by The Material, as it appears in Rock Band 2 for PlayStation 3.
As is typical for my videos, the original vocal track by Colleen DAgostino are minimized so you can hear what Im singing.
This video is posted (very late, but better late than never right?) by request for YouTube user Absoltastic.
Moving to Seattle isnt a very difficult song once you get a handle on some of the odd key shifts and unusual melodies. Most of the song repeats, so once you get it once its mostly harmless, but sightreading can be challenging because of some wide pitch jumps between phrases, especially as some of the phrases are sung very quietly.
Im a little curious why the its about to rain at 0:49 and the You were never one to worry at 2:36 werent charted - theyre clearly audible on the track, albeit with some heavy echo effects going on... ![Midnight Rider [Rock Band 2] 100% Expert Vocals
100% Gold Star Expert Vocals performance on Midnight Rider by The Allman Brothers Band, as it appears in Rock Band 2 for PlayStation 3.
As is typical for my videos, the original vocals by Gregg Allman are minimized so you can hear what Im singing.
I really adore this song, even if Im not very good at singing it - Ive never quite figured all the quirky little differences in cadence and melody on each chorus (every single one of which is slightly different from the others). You only have to be sort of close to get a full combo on this song though, as you can see in this video - this is one of THE most forgiving songs in the game.
I octave shifted the second half of the song down 1 octave because I simply cant sustain singing at the upper maximum of my voice that long without shouting myself hoarse. Midnight Rider [Rock Band 2] 100% Expert Vocals](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/nkhiHANc3qA/mqdefault.jpg)

100% Expert Gold Star performance on A Jagged Gorgeous Winter by The Main Drag.
As is customary with my videos, the original vocal track by Adam Arrigo is minimized so you can hear what Im singing.
This is an example video of how to most easily get 100% on this song. Ive octave shifted EVERYTHING in the song into as small a range as possible, from the intro to the bridge to the outtro, with only a few easily nailed outlying notes.
