"In a sea that's not so blue
she drips salt water from those
sea foam lips
her reflection beckons standby's near
sea lace lips asking for a kiss
she brings distant rain to a sunlit afternoon
the waves which crash
create shapes in the sand
somewhere which we will go
she will disappear
we'll move beyond
the begging lace of sea foam blue
to escape the rain-filled sky
a place of sunlit afternoons
is not so far from here."

This is now, my third Peter Murphy cover, to say I have a deep admiration for this artist would be an understatement. This was also a request from a friend on the facebook side of life. Which I was happy to undertake. Though, admittedly, this has been the most challenging song I have worked on to date. Peter has a very unique phrasing, and often his songs, like poems, feel like mantras, and that, part of his musical mystique is his use of a 12 string acoustic guitar, and mine has a date with a luthier.
And, yet, beauty is subjective, I find something intrinsically beautiful about the artist. And as I have mentioned in the past, the only performing artist I will travel around the world to see. A habit I have reserved over the decades; for, as to pierce my eyes, and senses with the most beautiful things this universe has to offer. There is a purity, that is hard to explain when he is on stage and performing.. He truly brings a moment of bliss and beauty.. .. Ok you get it Im a fan . He does now struggle with health, and I, and his many fans wish him well.
A Strange Kind of Love is a song from his third solo studio album, Deep (1989). Produced by Murphy himself and Simon Rogers, it was released as the third single off the album in 1990. Peters Notoriety grew from being the lead vocalist of Bauhaus and later formed the band Dalis Car before embarking on his solo career.
