not sure if this counts as a short film but that’s what i’m calling it
oh man. When I came up w the concept of a video with half a vintage song and half the caretaker version, I did not expect to go all out like this. Damn y’all!! This was such a learning experience and I am soooo tired.
Here’s the story if you’re curious:
Sajah was an exhausted father, who was frequently at work until late at night, trying to provide for his sick wife and their young son, Zernin. Sajah and his wife were very disconnected as she was not mentally or physically healthy the majority of the time, and the thing that kept them together was their son and of course Sajah wanting to care for her. Zernin did a lot of the house stuff, even from a really young age, being a caretaker to his mother when his father was at work. As Sajah wasn’t able to spend time with him during the day, they often read together when they could, Zernin being an often non-verbal child, finding peace in books.
Though, Sajah came from a bit of a messy past and unfortunately left some bad people unhappy. One day, he woke up, not in any recognizable place, with physical wounds and a lack of a memory, no idea who he was or anyone related to him.
(Actually, the man who hurt him was Gar’s right hand man basically , if any of you remember Gar from the other dnd related stuff, notably the “new magic wand” video. Funny how these things connect.)
The colored parts represent the consciousness/when he was in his “past life”, the white lines represent a dream like state, and the yellow lines represent when he was just waking up and was lacking a memory.

Also a major thanks to my friend Cam for doing lines for this!!!! It added so much to the video I’m so happy about it. He’s the DM for the campaign these two characters are in, so yeah this is Sajah’s canonical voice !!
