WatchmeplayNintendo | Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon Playthrough (Direct 3DS Capture) - Mission A-1 @WatchmeplayNintendo | Uploaded October 2023 | Updated October 2024, 2 hours ago.
This is part 1 of my 3-star playthrough of Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon for the 3DS. This is not an emulator. This footage was captured directly from my New 3DS XL using the aftermarket capture kit manufactured by Katsukity and installed/sold by Merki.
I decided to record new footage of this game due to the annoying stuttering issue in my prior playthrough. This new footage should be sharper as well.
Interestingly, Nintendo is re-releasing this game on the Switch as Luigi's Mansion 2, so if anybody needs a walkthrough for that, this playthrough should help.
I actually did not buy Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon when it was initially released in 2013 because I wasn't too interested in the game, even though I was a fan of the first Luigi's Mansion and purchased it on its release date in 2001 along with my GameCube.
I later changed my mind and asked for Dark Moon as a gift, which I received for Christmas of 2016. I then played through a portion of the game during my subsequent vacation in Japan during October of 2017. However, I didn't get around to beating the game until I recorded my initial playthrough in 2019.
Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon is overall rather fun and features a variety of different mansions, which I like. However, the game is a bit too confusing at times, and I don't care much for the star rating system. I prefer the simplicity of Luigi's Mansion 3. I initially tried to play through Dark Moon without a guide while in Japan, but I eventually gave up on that after getting stuck and purchased the official Prima guide.
For this playthrough I will be getting a 3-star rating on each mission while collecting all of the gems and capturing all of the Boos in each mission. Capturing all of the Boos in each mansion unlocks a special time-based mission after each boss fight.
Also, in order to obtain a 3-star rating on each mission, you have to meet a minimum point threshold unique to that mission, which is largely based off the total number of ghosts and treasure that you collect, though there also seems to be a limit to how much health you can lose. That's why I sometimes explore rooms that aren't related to the mission objectives.
In this first part I started a new save file and completed Gloomy Manor Mission A-1: Poltergust 5000.
Recorded with OBS Studio at 60 frames per second. I'm using a New 3DS XL.
