After years of watching uneaten food get tossed in the garbage while working in the hospitality industry, Lucy Cullen knew she needed to take action. The company she founded in response, Terus, has diverted almost 150,000 pounds of waste from the landfill by working with restaurants to improve waste management systems, reduce food prep waste, shift to sustainable suppliers and inspire restaurant staff as agents of change. Her newest venture, EarthPup, combines the expertise she built in food sustainability with her love of dogs by producing organic, planet-friendly dog treats. A portion of the company’s revenue helps to rehome rescue dogs.
