As part of Steam Next Fest, Apogee Entertainment and solo developer Eric Manahan of The Matte Black Studio have revealed a brand-new trailer for LUCID, the upcoming crystalpunk 2D action-platformer RPG launching Spring 2026.
In LUCID, you play as Oenn, a young Sentinel bound by a solemn promise, journeying through a fractured world shattered by catastrophe. Along the way, you’ll absorb powerful abilities that enhance movement and deepen combat, unlocking new paths across interconnected biomes filled with secrets, enemies, and towering bosses.
Inspired by the golden age of 2D sidescrollers, LUCID blends nostalgic pixel art with modern design, emotional storytelling, and fluid traversal to create a fast, expressive experience. Praised for its low barrier to entry and high skill ceiling, LUCID is designed for newcomers, completionists, and speedrunners alike.
The updated demo includes up to three hours of gameplay, allowing players to explore handcrafted environments, master Crystal Arts, and experiment with builds while discovering hidden routes and challenging encounters.
