This week on Marsha’s Plate, we sit down with disability justice activist Luc Bensimon for a powerful conversation about resilience, advocacy, and living authentically.
Born and raised in Topeka, Luc has spent 54 years navigating a world that often underestimated him. Living with a rare form of cerebral palsy, he shares the challenges he faced growing up, the barriers he encountered, and the determination that helped him build a life defined by perseverance and purpose.
We also discuss Luc’s groundbreaking legal case in Kansas, which helped advance protections and recognition for transgender people, and the lasting impact that victory continues to have on the community today.
From disability justice to transgender rights, this episode explores what it means to fight for dignity, visibility, and self-determination in the face of adversity.
Tune in for an inspiring story of courage, community, and triumph.

Here we talk about cultural events, entertainment news, and gender politics from a Black Trans feminist lens. This is Diamond Stylz archival work that preserves the histories, experiences, and contributions of a marginalized community that has been historically erased, overlooked, or misrepresented. We focus on people who identitfy as Black, trans, gay, or woman...or any combination of all of them.

![Diamond Stylz - Superwoman Reimagined
Of course This is a remake of the R&B classic by Karyn White Superwoman written by the one and only and my favorite songwriter Babyface. I wanted to reimagining it in a way that gives it a jazz club vibe... thats more so to my particular voice
Remember, Im not trying to outdo the original that cant be done...I just wanted to give it my own creative flavor.
Tell me what you think, thumbs up, and comment below
Lyrics
Verse I
Early in the morning, I put breakfast at your table
And make sure that your coffee has its sugar and cream
Your eggs are over-easy, your toast done lightly
All thats missing is your morning kiss that used to greet me
Now you say the juice is sour, it used to be so sweet
And I cant help but to wonder if youre talking bout me
We dont talk the way we used to talk, it’s hurting so deep
Ive got my pride, I will not cry
But its making me weak
[Chorus]
See Baby, I am only human
Im not your superwoman
Im not the kind of girl
that you can let down and think that everythings okay
See Baby, I am only human
Im not your superwoman
Im not the kind of girl
that you can let down and think that everythings okay
Verse II
I fought my way through the rush hour trying to make it home just for you
I want to make sure that your dinner will be waiting for you
But when you get there, you just tell me, youre not hungry at all
You said youd rather read the paper and you dont want to talk
You like to think that Im just crazy when I say that youve changed
Im convinced I know the problem: you dont love me the same
Youre just going through the motions and youre not being fair
Ive got my pride, I will not cry
Still I cant help but care
[Chorus]
[Bridge]
Look into the corners of your mind
Ill always be there for you, through good and bad times
But I cant be that superwoman that you want me to be
Ill give my love, a lasting love if youll return love to me
Im not your superwoman (Oh, no, oh, no)
Im the kind of girl that can treat you so sweet
But you got to realize that you got to be sweeter to me
Be sweeter to me
[Chorus]
If you feel it in your heart and you understand me
Stop right where you are, everybody sing along with me
