The Medal of Honor is the highest Military Award for Bravery in the United States Military. All those who receive the award have shown exceptional bravery. Lieutenant Colonel Robert Cole was no exception. During WWII in Normandy following D-Day, he single-handedly organised and took part in a bayonet charge of heavily dug in German positions in and around the town of Carentan. The fighting was extreme with Cole and his men eventually holding the position until relieved. In today's video, we tell the story of Lt Col Robert Cole's heroic actions during WW2.

At Premier History we want to take you on a journey through time and grow your knowledge to see what it was actually like to be in some of the pivotal points in World History.
