New magic is on the rise, and so do our characters' questions. Once again, Fern and Florence are left to cope with their own issues without relying on their respective twin's help, as if the clock reversed to a time when neither of them had met at all. Even in the efforts of reconciliation, both ends of the line remain disconnected: Fern is still left astray with a fire-breathing reptile and Florence must fight the inner demons on her own. Can any good possibly come out of their time apart? And what about poor Shelby? Her new abilities are merely sprouting from the surface, yet her reputation seems to be at a downfall. All hope seems lost at rekindling a budding friendship, let alone the appeals of her fellow peers, and the answers she seeks are near impossible to come by. Perhaps some reflection and time will tell if Shelby can find inner peace with both herself and the magic within...
