Torvald quite literally drags Nora back from the party, and he’s rather… hungry for her. Torvald’s immediate intentions are to just take Nora back to the bedroom… if he even makes it there. But first, Torvald boasts to Kristine about Nora’s performance. When they’re alone, Kristine tells Nora that she must tell Torvald the truth, or the letter will. After Kristine leaves, Torvald starts becoming sexually aggressive towards Nora. Nora makes it clear that she doesn’t want to do anything tonight, as she’s already worrying about Krogstad’s letter, and doesn’t need to be sexually pressured, on top of that. It seems there are a lot of things that Torvald doesn’t understand, consent being one of them, being a beast, and a very unpleasant man. It seems his views of control are, “I want sex, so lay down.”
Torvald then fantasizes some little roleplay, only flaming his desire. Nora protests to the best of her ability, but Torvald’s lust eventually turns to violence. Thankfully, he’s stopped when Dr. Rank comes by to say his final goodbyes, before his death, although Nora is the only one who gets what he’s saying. It’s rather unfortunate that the good man has to die, while the bad man lives. Torvald continues to try and make sexual advances on Nora, but when she acknowledges that their friend is literally dying, it finally kills his desire. When Torvald goes to read his letters, Nora prepares for her grand escape. To leave, never be confronted, and never see Torvald again. But let’s just say, that’s not how it’s going to go. The truth is going to come out, and trust me, it’s not going to be pretty.
