Day 3 of our 60-mile Loyalsock Trail thru-hike brings sweeping views, unique rock formations, and some big mileage gains. From the morning climb toward High Knob to the scenic Lower and Upper Alpine Vistas, we push past mile 41 and settle near mile 42—leaving roughly 18 miles for the final day. Along the way we revisit past campsites, spot wildlife, and enjoy early fall colors, all while my improvised foam-pad insoles keep holding strong.
