With the Minecraft 1.8 snapshots we can now take advantage of new villager farming mechanics to make fully automatic bread farms, carrot farms, and potato farms without using redstone. In this video I show you how to increase the efficiency of these farms, and i show several interesting villager mechanics I've found that can effect the way your farm works.

For anyone having trouble with this style of farm, it seems that it requires new villagers to work. As of the 14w04b snapshot, old villagers will not replant the crops once harvested.
