All of the clips in the video were filmed on Wednesday September 1st, 2021. This video summarizes the fifth day of my solo canoeing adventure on the Rideau Canal.

In this episode, I begin from my campsite at the Lower Brewers Lockstation (Lock 33) and paddle east to the Kilmarkock Lockstation (Lock 24). I took the canoe through 7 locks: Poonamalie - Locks 32, Smiths Falls Detached - Lock 31, Smiths Falls Combined - Lock 29a, Old Slys - Lock 26/27, Edmonds - Lock 25, and Kilmarnock - Lock 24. I paddled through the Tay Canal, Lower Rideau Lake and the Rideau River. I paddled under a total of 4 bridges including the Abbott St Swing Bridge, Beckwith St, the Old Slys Swing Bridge and the Kilmarnock Swing Bridge. I paddled right through the community of Smith Falls and stopped to see the original Locks 28/29/30 which are no longer in operation. The municipalities I paddled through include Drummond North Elmsley, Smiths Falls, and Montague which are part of Lanark County, as well as the Township of Rideau Lakes and Merrickville-Wolford which are part of the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville. After arriving at my destination, I spent the night camping on the beautiful grounds of the Kilmarnock Lockstation.

The canoe is a Bluewater Peterborough 16', made of Kevlar and manufactured in Guelph, ON in the early 1990's. I filmed this video using a Samsung Galaxy S10 smartphone. The GPS I used for the trip is a Garmin eTrex 30.
