On 12th February 2020 the second stretch on the England Coast Path becomes open in Cumbria and for the first time people have a legal right to circumnavigate the island, offering some stunning landscapes for walkers on the way. To the north, there are wonderful views of Black Combe and the Lake District Fells, to the west the Irish Sea and the massed ranks of wind turbines, to the south views across Morecambe Bay to Blackpool and to the east, Piel Channel and the adjoining Furness coastline. This 33km (21 miles) section will eventually connect to the rest of the England Coast Path.
