Beat the final boss using the pogo move, then during the credits input: UP UP DOWN DOWN LEFT RIGHT RIGHT RIGHT - Your character will appear. Now jump and mash down on the d-pad to get lives and coins. You can see I get nearly 100 lives

This guy was really tough to no damage for me. I was stumped on the laser beam attack timing, that attack is really tricky to air guard! The poison gas was tricking me in terms of dodge/guard timing so I just jumped over it.")
