DESCRIPTION 1:
Lovers Sadness is a powerful representation of loss, and the struggle for meaning following.
While you would expect the part spent alone to be the hardest, it is the easiest part of the level. The parts spent together (likely to represent this relationship) are more difficult, harder to navigate, yet they feel complete in an odd way that the last part of the level misses.
Why are the duals more difficult? This could hint towards the nature of the relationship - maybe this is a representation for dealing with an unstable partner, the stress and pain of dealing with their poor mental health. Towards the end of the duals, one of the players is drowning, disappearing at the bottom, like they are hardly there sometimes.
When this person leaves - for whatever reason, likely not a good one, and this probably being the end of their story altogether, the level is very different.
It definitely gets easier - you no longer have to deal with looking after the second player, but, things feel empty. Like they are missing something. You half wish the second player was there just so things could feel normal again, despite the difficulty it would add. There's still a place where they ought to be.
This level definitely feels like someone reliving memories instead of experiencing it in real time, and the pain doesn't ever feel very resolved. But grief isn't like that, and it doesn't just go away. I like that there isn't really a happy cheerful conclusion or final meaning found in Lovers Sadness, the ending feels very open.

Both icons are there at the start, presenting as the lovers. They were there for each other at any times, summer, fall, winter, and even dark times.
However later, one of the lovers left the screen, leaving the other one now alone. Deco now becomes more empty and basic, and the song becomes even more mellow, emphaisizing the loneliness the other person feels inside while going through the gameplay by only themself now. Tears, blood dropped throughout the level, showing the emotional pain this person is having. I love how the gameplay's also designed to be very similar to Can't Let Go around this period, which further implies how much they still yearn for their love still be there.
It's how easier the gameplay has become. Going through it, it's def the easiest part of the level, yet you feel that there's something wrong. You want the other icon to be there, to be there in your journey, even if it would become harder. This part's so subtle, yet so endearing at the same time
Eventually, they fade into memories, with the sadness still being conveyed throughout. The black trees at the last wave part possibly symbolize the immense grief, sorrow for their lover even after a very long time. And even though I'm not clear what the end part supposed to be, I can prob visualize it captures the last moments of the person, with the black and white probably implies a numb and colourless world after being affected with such a heartbreak. But after all of that, as the person dealing with the pain now also dissapears as they fall out the screen, the lingering passion and love is still there, appearing through the red on both of the spikes.
