"Love Song For A Saviour" is one of the highlights of Jars of Clay's self-titled debut album. Despite the simple and repetitive words of the chorus ("I want to fall in love with you"), this is no simple song! The lyrics paint three pictures of faith that make us question our own. The first is a carefree, childlike faith that promises to grow in understanding. Then follows a cold and unfeeling faith that might only be external. Last, we have a faith struggling with complete surrender to Christ as both saviour and LORD.
