Nearly 11 years later, we return to a very poignant moment of my life and my “editing career.” The process of making the original is still very strong in my memories; how it felt to make, the steps I took to make it possible, and why I had to release it and let it go. I wanted to come back and give it a “remaster” with such a beefy computer with higher quality footage, and now with my improved editing techniques.
The moment is so old it isn't an open wound anymore, but rather a dull scar to remember it by. Despite how old the original was, I occasionally would go back and watch it and look at in pride. So this isn't a video to “fix” the old one, but to just give it a new life and polish. I still very much love this song, but I also left it behind me with that video. Revisiting it with such wiser eyes and ears without all the emotions to bog it down is therapeutic. Frankly, I am just desperate to edit or make something, ANYTHING, so I took this project on.
I am glad my mother doesn't know of this channel, or care to know about this hobby of mine. I remember telling my dad about the original video, and eventually showing it to him. I know he subscribes to my channel but I don't know how often he swings by given I haven't uploaded in a year and my projects are so... ̶f̶u̶c̶k̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶w̶e̶i̶r̶d̶ niche (hi Dad, if you are reading this!). Even today, as I live much closer to my mother after swearing to give myself distance, I have allowed her back in hopes that things have changed. In ways they have, but coming back to this STILL doesn't make me feel bad for making mom the villain (well, it's guilt and fear if she were to find out about that I made her the villain). These moments of my childhood with her still stick with me today, so I think I could argue this video today is still a way to vent and explore how I feel about her, watching it through my father's eyes as it all fell apart. It felt like a “us versus her” situation for me, so I stood with Dad. Hence why Ashley is seen next to Leon “inside,” and seen watching their fights, and how it destroys Leon.
The story is from Leon's perspective, with Ashley watching her parents fight and die over and over again trying to stay under the same roof. Perhaps it's a metaphor, or if you prefer, Leon and Jill really die, destroyed by their marriage. To me, I see the symbolism and what it all means to me. However, it is still up to your interpretation. I know I like to give everything away and explain everything—but it's maybe best to let it sit for once.
And for clarification for whomever may care, I released the original video in November 2011, and my parents did eventually split maybe half a year later and were officially divorced by 2013. And I'm glad they did. Staying together for the children can be so much more painful than just letting the house be more empty, but healthier.
Also, masking is hard. How do the Non/Disney crossover people do so much of it? It's miserable haha

Oh why, long time no see, dear viewer.
I dont think I had to make a whole new video to audition, but I didnt think anything I already had was good enough for a fast edit. So I went song hunting and finally settled on this. And whats this? Some hints of dubstep? Why, I never!
Hopefully I did well on the dubstep since I am audtioning for a leader I know who is amazing at dubstep editing, and its the ONE thing I CANT do.
This video has no real message or point than a real good time for the eyes. The only theme here is a good vs evil, and the evil is getting really strong and the hero/heroine has to struggle to fight back. But thats it. And it was fun to use almost ALL my game selection in one video. A multi-fandom is defiantly something different.
