I've been wanting to make a vid about MIB for a long long time, like 6 months! But I had absolutely NO ideas. Then I gave up on it, and then lucaszd1988 made a contest. I promised I will enter, but I absolutely didn't know what to do. First I wanted to make a video about Shannon & Sayid's deaths, then about Jin & Sun's death, then Juliet's death... And I couldn't do anything, it was so so bad when I tried.
And finally, I had this idea about MIB, and I this time inspiration came to me. Hallelujah. I use a few effects, I know that Federica didn't like it when it's useless.

Well, now I have a lot of things to say, something very litterary, I mean, I'm going to make an analysis of Man in Black & Jacob as Abel & Cain, so if you don't care, you stop reading now. But you should read because I think it's very interesting. ;)

For my studies, I'm working on the myth of Abel & Cain, I guess you know it but I make a little summary.
The story of Abel & Cain is in the Bible, in the Genesis. They are children of Adam & Eve, people usually say they are twin but actually Cain is the elder. Whatever. Abel is a shephard, Cain is a smith. One day, they make offerings to God, and he accepts Abel's offering, but not Cain's. Cain is angry and he kills his brother, we don't know how and exaclty why he does but he does. God punish him, make him be a wanderer that will never have a home, and put a mark on him (we don't know what is this mark) which said that nobody can kill him.
But, and that's very strange, Cain is actually the founder of civilization. He build the first city, develops industry and so.

So, what is the link with LOST ? ;)
Well, Jacob is Abel and MIB is Cain. It is soooo clear. Abel/Jacob is the nice guy, which make everything he can to please his mother (God?), and Cain/MIB is a kind of rebel, he wants more than what he has. MIB is a smith, so is Cain. Abel is a shephard, we can say that Jacob is one too, because he is the leader on the island.
What is really interesting is that things are not what they seem. In reality, Jacob is Cain and MIB is Abel.
When they are young, Jacob is jealous because MIB is his mother's favorite, and because he's the one who made the rules for their game. And MIB told him that one day Jacob will have his own game, with his own rules. True.
Plus, MIB wants to leave the island, he is looking for freedom, he is a nomad, like a shepherd. Jacob is sedentary, he wants to stay home, like a smith that isn't leaving his forge.
Finally, Jacob/Cain's jealousy and anger make him kill his brother. He has the mark that his mother put on him to make him being kinda immortal, and then he becomes the big boss on the island, like Cain was the big boss, the creator of the civilization.
Isn't it fascinating? Well, I think it is =) And the writers than created this story are brilliant.

I think that Jacob and MIB's story is very sad. They really loved each other and were separated. The only thing that Jacob wanted was to live in peace with his mother and his brother, the only thing that MIB wanted was to go "home" with his brother... "Come with me Jacob. Please" is heartbreaking.
