We headed out to the Lost Knife Switchbacks to check on some of the trail conditions and see how much worse a few of the mud holes had become. What we didn't expect was a late-season snowstorm rolling into the mountains!
The fresh snow quickly changed the conditions on the trail, turning what we thought would be a simple scouting run into a real adventure. With limited traction on the switchbacks and constantly changing conditions, every obstacle became a little more challenging and a lot more exciting.
Despite the unexpected weather, the Lost Knife Switchbacks delivered an incredible day on the trail. The snow-covered scenery, challenging terrain, and unpredictable conditions made for an unforgettable trip. Sometimes the best adventures are the ones you never planned for.
