Wilderness adventures don't always go as planned. In this event, I set out on a day hike to visit a waterfall I saw on a map. I brought only the clothes on my back, my camera, and a knife. I figured I could probably get to the waterfall and back to my camp before dark. Unfortunately, I misjudged the ruggedness of the terrain and the time it would take to complete the journey while recording it with my camera. Facing cold, hunger and dehydration, I had to find a way to get through the night and find my way back up a steep mountain covered with giant boulders and thick brush. I drank from the stream when I could and ate wild foods along the way. This was a true test of stamina.
