This is a time of great darkness. The perils of becoming lost in this darkness are very great indeed.
We live during the Great Tribulation prophesied by Jesus in Matthew 24. This is the time Isaiah saw when he said, "For behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and thick darkness the peoples" in Isaiah 60:2. This is also the time prophesied by Paul when he said, "9 The coming of the lawless one is by the activity of Satan with all power and false signs and wonders, 10 and with all wicked deception for those who are perishing, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. 11 Therefore God sends them a strong delusion, so that they may believe what is false, 12 in order that all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness." (2 Thessalonians 2:9-12)
But this is also the time when God's holy ones, the qodeshiym, will arise and shine, for their light has come, and the glory of the Lord will rise upon them. See Isaiah 60:1-22.
