Mind Unveiled | Lost Dr. Moreau Film! The Island of the Lost (1921) Colorized & Sound (Full movie) @MindUnveiled | Uploaded July 2023 | Updated October 2024, 1 hour ago.
Hey guys using Ai I colorized an old lost "Island of Dr. Moreau" film from over a century ago.
I also added and arranged classical music while also integrating SFX for certain parts, as the original archive for this film had no audio. Hopefully, it's ok this is my first time doing something like this and we would like to do more old films! Also, translated the subtitles using Ai let me know if there are any mistakes.
More about the film: It's not "lost" anymore, but it was for quite some time and it seems the first screening of it once found was in a convention in 2014. The Island of the Lost (German: Die Insel der Verschollenen) is a 1921 German silent film directed by Urban Gad and starring Alf Blütecher, Hanni Weisse and Erich Kaiser-Titz. It is supposedly a loose unauthorized adaptation of the 1896 novel The Island of Doctor Moreau by H. G. Wells. Author Wells was allegedly unaware that this unauthorized version of his novel existed.
Other films by Urban Gad have still not been found, and there are some VERY interesting differences with this version of the film that relate to our research and a better understanding of the original novel.
We will discuss this all in detail in the following video!
Here is the original uncolored version with no audio :
