Observation of the behaviour of the Cape Orycterope also known as the Earth Pig - (Orycteropus afer) - It is an essentially termitivorous mammal of Africa, which plays an important ecological role in controlling the spread of termite populations. However, it is not an anthill. It has a very elongated head ending in a tubular snout, and large elongated ears. The neck is short, the body massive and arched. It ends with a pointed and muscular tail. Its nose contains more olfactory bulbs than any other mammal (9 bulbs, compared with the 4 or 5 bulbs of dogs). His feet are provided with four fingers in the front and five in the rear, armed with strong claws a little flattened and in the shape of a shovel, which seems to be an intermediary between the claw and the hoof, and allowing him to dig the ground or to search effectively an termite mound, its main source of food..
