For my first playthrough of Lords of the Fallen I choose the Condemned character and created Edna Buckethands, a funny character on a quest to become Bucketlord! I looked up some quest guides beforehand to make sure I didn't screw them up, especially the bucket one, and so I knew how to get the hardest ending (Umbral) at the same time, and then I went for it. My only rule was no armor and no heals, ever. In essence this meant I at best I could take a hit or two here and there, depending on the enemy, and in many cases take no hits at all or be one shot. Fun times for Edna!
This video includes all the boss fights along the way, and a little bit of quest stuff, plus the Umbral ending itself.
I did this for the challenge initially but, as it turns out, if you don't wear armor and don't put much stats into health, you can get one or two short very easily, anywhere. This led to me dying a few times as I navigated levels, which meant I would double up and sometimes triple up on kills, making each level an accidental vigor farm. I feel this led me to being pretty overleveled by the end as I was smashing bosses like nothing. Either that or the Gilded Bucket is just that good. Or both. Either way, being weak for most of my playthrough ending up making me strong, which is ironic.

Please note: The times where I die in the video are necessary for me to complete Kukajin's quest line. Having to die to do that sucked. Also, by doing this run, I ended up having an NPC help with nearly every boss fight. This also sucked. NPC's make it harder to engage the bosses as their attacks become more unpredictable to judge, especially when a single hit will one shot you. They do offer distraction, but for the most part they just make it harder to learn the bosses moves. It really changes the feel of each boss fight, and not for the better. I enjoyed the extremely few boss fights I had without NPC's way, way more.
Finally, I don't recommend doing this. I'd like to say it was fun, but it wasn't. It was boring af. Buckets are funny, but one dimensional. To get the most damage you need to equip two buckets with runes, but you need to two-hand instead of dual-wield. This removes half of the buckets special moves. That's not really a problem since special moves don't do much damage, but it does remove the variety of attacks fist weapons can do. I also had stutter/performance issues galor, and when that happened, often I'd get one shot, which was super frustrating. If I had armor on that wouldn't have bothered me so much. Next playthrough my no.1 rule will be maximum fun, maximum variety, and for the love of all that is holy, I will be wearing armor!
