I grew up listening to Country Music and 70's Rock. Among the artists and songs that still resonate with me are Creedence Clearwater Revival and this song, "Lookin' Out My Back Door". I shot this footage over three beautiful, and hot, Summer days in Colorado. The song was a good match because it reminds it reminds me of my grandfather, I can remember singing it with my mom Jill, and it still rocks. From time to time I find myself singing these few lines:
"There's a giant doing cartwheels,
a statue wearin' high heels.
Look at all the happy creatures
dancing on the lawn.
A dinosaur Victrola
list'ning to Buck Owens.
...Doo, doo, doo,
Lookin' out my back door."
Those words evoke something I can't quite put a finger on, but it's close to a mix of sentimental drivel, and for lack of a better word—magic.
