This is the longplay of Alex Kidd in Miracle World, an action and platform game produced and distributed by SEGA, released in 1986 exclusively for the Master System.

The game has as its central character the boy Alex Kidd. For seven years he lived in Mt. Eternal studying Shellcore, an ancient martial art that taught people to be so strong that they could break large rocks with their bare hands. One day, as he left Mt. Eternal for his spiritual homeland, he encountered a dying man who gave him a revelation: the peaceful kingdom of Radaxian was in great danger. Before exhaling his last breath, the man gave Alex a shard of a map and a locket made from a piece of Sunstone. What did all that mean? The only way to find out is to travel to Miracle World and look for the answers there. In this adventure, Alex also discovers that he is the prince of Radaxian, but that he was kidnapped by an Evil Lord during his youth, and that his hometown is now ruled by the tyrant Janken the Great. In the face of this, our hero then needs to save his brother (who was kidnapped by Janken) and protect Miracle World from the villain's tyranny.

In addition to the traditional platforming stages, where Alex defeats enemies and breaks rocks with his punches, the game also has a distinct aspect: the use of rock, paper, scissors (also known as jan-ken-po) to defeat some of the bosses. , instead of traditional platform game fighting. The player can use the money accumulated during the stages by Alex in stores to buy items, extra lives and even vehicles.

Created to try to overcome Mario (from Nintendo), the character Alex Kidd was Sega's second attempt in the 1980s to dominate the gaming market, at the time completely taken over by Nintendo and the NES. Despite the relatively short life, especially compared to his rival and his successor, Alex Kidd marked the childhood of many with his punches that destroyed rocks and battles against bosses playing rock, paper or scissors. It's a good game, which even received a remake in 2021 for modern consoles.
I hope you enjoy the video.
