Game: Mega Man: Powered Up
System: Playstation Portable
Version: (US)

This is a longplay of the game Mega Man: Powered Up, an action-platformer developed and distributed by Capcom, released exclusively for the Playstation Portable in 2006.

Mega Man Powered Up is a remake of the Mega Man game, which was released for the NES in 1987. The plot is the same as the first game, but better explained: the scientist Dr. Light and his assistant Dr. Wily built a series of robots to help humanity. Each of these robots is designed to perform industrial tasks involving construction, demolition, lumber, electrical operations, or work in extreme heat and cold, all for the benefit of humanity. However, Dr. Wily is disloyal to his partner and steals and reprograms the robots to help himself in a plan to take over the world. Dr. Light sends Mega Man, a human-looking assistant robot now converted into a combat robot, to defeat his creations and end Dr. Wily's evil plans.

The game features jump-and-shoot gameplay, freely selectable stages, and each boss has a weakness to one or more specific weapons. In this particular version, it's possible to unlock several different characters, including the bosses themselves (unlocked after defeating them in stages using only the Buster), as well as collect items that allow you to build new stages. The game has a chibi-style visual and three difficulty levels (which can be chosen before each stage), in addition to two new bosses: Time Man and Oil Man.

The gameplay is better than the first game, although seemingly slower, but it's not difficult to get used to. The difficulty levels present relatively significant differences between them, and playing with the robot masters can help collect stage-building items, in addition to a time trial mode that can also be played with all characters.

This game was well-received, but sold very poorly, which made sequels unfeasible (the same thing happened with Mega Man: Maverick Hunter X, also for the PSP).

The video was made playing in Normal mode and defeating the bosses for the first time using only the Buster (because if you use special weapons, you end up destroying them and negatively interfering with the end of the game). In this version of the game, both Mega Man and Roll and Dr. Light have a more human personality compared to other games in the series, especially if the player does not destroy the robot masters. I couldn't show the extra content of the game because the PSP emulation is still very experimental and I couldn't get a save to start with everything unlocked, meaning I would have to play many playthroughs to unlock the content without a save file. This video is just the main playthrough with Mega Man.
I hope you enjoy it.
