Longhorn: Intro, Deep Dive and Q&A - Derek Su, SUSE
Longhorn is a cloud-native, distributed block storage solution built for Kubernetes and various workloads, including containers and virtual machines. It is widely integrated as an infrastructure component in other software platforms, adopted across diverse environments, and operates on both dynamic and immutable systems, with hundreds of thousands of deployments worldwide. Currently sponsored by CNCF, it is an incubating project working toward graduation. In this presentation, we will update you on recent major releases, future plans, the community, user adoption stories, and cross-project collaborations. Additionally, it provides an overview of Longhorn's architecture and design, along with a detailed look at the key maturity milestone for the V2 data engine in the recent Longhorn 1.12 release.
