Friends and family are honoring the life of MicahJo Barnett, a William Jewell running back who collapsed on the sideline during Saturday’s home opener football game and later died.

Elijah Leonard, one of Barnett’s oldest friends, said their friendship began as a rivalry in second grade when Barnett’s football team beat Leonard’s.
