"Lonestar" is one of the most explicitly bluegrass-influenced songs on Twisted Pine's latest release, Love Your Mind. The song draws from
the spiritual and mystical end of the bluegrass spectrum. The Father of Bluegrass, Bill Monroe, used to talk about the influence of the ‘Ancient Tones’ on his music, and he wrote about really heavy subjects, like mortality and the afterlife. That was a huge influence in the shaping of this song. Another influence: the vocal style of Peter Rowan.
