In Orthel's 6th Piano sonatina there are influences ranging van Pijper to Hindemith, and Orthel experiments with different sonorities and textures throughout. The 3rd movement is remarkable for its sheet of sound approach to composing.
In the 3rd movement the pianist sometimes repeats a bar (which is not indicated in de score here).
The sonatina is dedicated to Frédéric Meinders.
