I wanted a project that would combine woodworking, metalworking, CNC, and a few other skills. I decided to make a physical representation of my YouTube channel's logo out of aluminum and walnut as a way to not only learn some new skills, but also promote my channel a bit more. This project is less about the final result, and more about learning along the way! This project also shows just how much work goes into a project.

In part 2, I show you all the CAM that goes with machining something like this. I am using Solidworks with HSMxpres, which is essentially the same CAM package that Fusion360 uses. This should give you a good idea of what it takes to create the gcode files necessary for your CNC router.
