This seemed like a good idea at the time. I watched 'Shutter Island' recently and this piece of music by Max Richter is in it played by what I think must be a string trio/quartet. It's a really nice, haunting piece of music so I thought I would translate it to guitar.
My version doesn't have the same effect and whilst the original is haunting, this just seems to drag on. If you don't know the piece or the film it will seem even more boring! But I've recorded it now so I'm putting it on here.
I've overlaid the trailer and the trailer to 'Arrival' which the music also features in.
The arrangement is faithful up until the 2.20 mark where I introduce drums and an original solo section. And the hand sync goes out on the video as I fluffed them sweep bit and dropped in to redo it and the phrasing on the slide note after was different.
The conditions for my lockdown videos were:
I only had a limited amount of time to learn (mostly by ear) and record the songs (as I am a key worker) so they were usually recorded in one or two takes so they are certainly not flawless recordings.
I played all the instruments (including programming the drums from scratch).
As the videos started to get more elaborate I could only film them within the confines of my house and garden in keeping with the lockdown rules.
