Thomas Haire, retired U.S. Army Private First Class, has been living for years in discomfort with a prosthetic leg. Haire enlisted in 2004 after the 9/11 attacks. In 2005, he was shot in the leg while working at an army recruiting event at the Hudson Valley Mall in Kingston. His current home is not wheelchair accessible, which is a challenge when he doesn’t have his prosthetic leg on.
