Sometimes a game will randomly lock up and freeze up like this for me in the Steam version. I've experienced this a few times with different games

The freeze isn't a complete lock out or crash - the music still plays and graphics still move/animate in place. The Pause menu seems to work, and for Gridrunner Remastered I can still hit the old/new graphics toggle
