There is always a cost to following Jesus, but why is that and how does God use it our lives?

Nothing can replace reading the Scriptures for yourself, so I encourage you to read these stories in your own time, in whatever translation you like. Here are a few things that I find really helpful to bring Scriptures reading alive:
QUESTIONS:
* What was the cost that Simeon prophesied to Mary? To what extent do you think she understood the meaning of this prophecy?
* The scripture seems to indicate this prophecy was a blessing (“Simeon blessed them and prophesied over Mary, saying…”) While his words spoke of pain and heartache, what about this may have been a blessing for Mary?
