Set in the 6th century AD, Age of Justinian covers an often overlooked period of european history, as the continent slowly undergoes the transition between the classical and medieval periods, and the map of Europe as we know it today slowly begins to form. Following the conquests of the legendary Roman general Belisarius, the empire has recovered much of the land lost after the collapse of the western empire a century earlier, however, Emperor Justinian now rules over large swathes of burnt, plundered and ruined land paid for with a huge cost in blood and treasure. The Empire hasn't been this large in a hundred years, but it teeters on the brink of collapsing once again...
