The Butte County District Attorney's Office released body camera video of former Chico police sergeant Scott Ruppel grabbing a suspect by the neck and forcing him backward in a police vehicle on Aug. 15, 2017.
Ruppel was charged with misdemeanor assault in Butte County Superior Court, and he was found not guilty Oct. 26, 2018.

Ruppel's choke hold on the suspect, William Michael Rowley II, begins around the 5 minute mark.
