Cyabra’s report says that during a roughly six-week stretch at the end of 2025, a coordinated network of fake accounts significantly boosted the political posts on Nicki Minaj’s X account.
Out of more than 55,000 profiles that engaged with 51 of her political posts, about a third were flagged as fake, which is far higher than what you’d normally expect on social media. These accounts didn’t just randomly comment; they posted in synchronized bursts, reused the same praise-heavy language, interacted with each other to inflate visibility, and embedded themselves in real conversations to make the support look organic.
On at least one day, fake accounts made up more than half of all comments. The report argues that the goal wasn’t really about pushing specific policies, but about reinforcing Minaj’s image and manufacturing the appearance of broad, enthusiastic public backing for her recent political messaging.
