π΄ LIVE: The Sun Right Now | Backyard Solar Imaging
Join me live as we observe the Sun in real time using backyard astrophotography equipment.
This is a live solar view captured from my own telescope, combined with official NASA solar imagery for comparison and educational context.
Weβll be looking at:
Real-time solar disk features
Active regions and surface detail
How backyard solar imaging compares with NASA data
Live discussion and Q&A
This stream is for education, curiosity, and real-time observation β no filters, no edits, just the Sun as it is right now.
β οΈ Solar Safety Notice:
This observation is conducted using proper solar-safe equipment and filters. Never look at the Sun through a telescope or camera without certified solar protection.
π‘ Equipment (Backyard Setup):
β’ Solar-safe telescope & filters
β’ Astronomy camera
β’ Live capture and processing
π°οΈ NASA Data Source (for comparison):
β’ NASA / SDO solar imagery (public domain)

![MASSIVE FIREBALLS β SOMETHING CHANGED
Something is happening with fireballs β and the data backs it up.
In the first quarter of 2026, the American Meteor Society logged 2,322 fireball events β the highest total on record. But the raw count isnt the strange part. What changed is the number of high-witness events: 40 fireballs drew 50+ reports (versus an average of ~20), and 16 drew 100+ (versus ~8). Long-duration sighting reports hit 1,693 β more than 2.5x the previous record of 651 set in 2021.
In this video I go through the CNEOS (NASAs Center for Near-Earth Object Studies) fireball database event by event β checking the size, speed, and energy of these incoming objects, cross-referencing the eyewitness reports, and looking at the footage people captured across the US and Europe. Some are tiny airbursts. Some are earth-grazers trying to escape the atmosphere. And a few of them still dont have an easy explanation.
AMS points to one likely factor β AI assistants sending more people to report β but that alone doesnt account for the elevated sonic booms or the recovered meteorite falls. So whats actually going on? Lets look at the data together.
Happy July 4th, Rayliens. This is my way of showing you the fireworks.

Ill be doing a Part 2 / live session with more of this data soon.

Im Ray β I go by Cosmic Ray on this channel. I investigate fireballs, earthquakes, solar activity, volcanoes, and the anomalies most people miss. If you like data-driven space science with no hype, youre in the right place.
