The battle to become British GT champions cranks up a notch at Donington, which could potentially decide the destination of 2026’s drivers’ and teams’ titles with a round to spare. A glance at the standings and Compensation Times suggests that’s unlikely in the majority of cases, and especially with regards GT3 where the championship scrap has gone down to the final day every year since 2010.
Still, the likes of Morgan Tillbrook and Ben Barnicoat (Optimum) and Jessica Hawkins and Will Orton (MK Racing) could, mathematically at least, become British GT’s latest overall title winners on Sunday afternoon. Barwell, meanwhile, has an opportunity to reclaim its teams’ title with an event to spare – just as it did at Donington two years ago – but GT4’s equivalent remains utterly wide open thanks to 7.5 points covering the top five squads.
