What better way to drape yourself in the darkness of director Robert Eggers’s upcoming Nosferatu adaptation than at L.A.’s most famous cemetery? Hollywood Forever Cemetery’s beautiful Masonic Lodge will flip into a Count Orlok-inspired space with props and costumes from the film, plus a soundscape pulled from composer Robin Carolan’s score. Expected themed drinks and merch, as well—and a waitlist of folks dying to get a ticket to the already-sold-out gothic horror pop-up. Come along with us for a fun evening as we experience this LIVE!
About the movie:
Nosferatu is a 2024 American Gothic supernatural horror film written and directed by Robert Eggers. It is a remake of the 1922 German film with the same title, an unauthorised adaptation of Bram Stoker's 1897 novel Dracula. The film features an ensemble cast including Bill Skarsgård, Nicholas Hoult, Lily-Rose Depp, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Emma Corrin, Ralph Ineson, Simon McBurney, and Willem Dafoe, while also reuniting Eggers with the frequently collaborating cinematographer Jarin Blaschke.
Development on the movie began in 2015 when Eggers planned to make it his second film, describing it as a passion project, but he eventually opted to delay its production. Skarsgård and Depp were cast as leads in September 2022. Hoult joined the cast the following month, with the remaining cast confirmed at the start of production. Filming took place primarily at Barrandov Studios in Prague between February and May 2023.
Nosferatu had its world premiere in Berlin, Germany, on December 2, 2024. The film is scheduled to be released on December 25, 2024, by Focus Features domestically and Universal Pictures internationally. It received critical acclaim for its faithfulness to the source material, as well as Eggers' direction and the cinematography, score, makeup effects, production and costume design, and performances.
