Amber Guyger, 31, an Ex-Dallas PD cop was found guilty of murder on October 1st, 2019 in the the death of Botham Jean, aged 26 years. He was her neighbor, who lived on the 4th floor, which was directly above her apartment. Amber claimed she thought she walked into her apartment and seen a silhouette of an intruder inside. The room was dark, she walked past 16 different apartments even though there were many signs she was not on the 3rd floor. Among the signs were all of the 16 apartment numbers, the bright red rug on the entry way in front of Botham's door, all the plants near the entry ways and also the strong smell of marijuana on the floor. After shooting her gun two times and lethally shooting Botham in the chest, she rendered zero first aid, did not call for backup before entering and also waited sometime before even calling 911. I do not think normal protocol was at all executed.
