Episode 11
Rembrandt Broad Lighting "Kate with Headdress"
Considered one of the most classical lighting by many, Joel teaches us all about using Rembandt broad lighting. Rembrandt lighting can be characterized by an high key light offset to the front and side of the subject, with either a low power fill or bounce illuminating the far side of the face. This has a number of variations, but typically has a very distinct look.
This week he brings in model Kara Tolbert to recreate this buttery smooth light. Using two 7-foot Westcott Octoboxes, Joel lines them up side by side to create a nice even wrap around Kara's face. Check it to learn how to be almost as awesome as Rembrandt himself.
