3 Light HDR Portrait "Alice in Wonderland"
This week Joel shows us that HDR isn't just for landscapes. Using a continuous 3 light approach, Joel brought out every last detail with a HDR image inspired by Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland. The image of the "Mad Hatter" has a über-sharp and poppy look that accentuates every last detail, and makes the colors more prominent.
And this week, he brings in fitness model Amy Rose to recreate his HDR portraiture technique with some awesome composite volleyball images, and create some amazing and high detail portraits.

Strobes? Pish-posh! Were replicating a star!
Studio lighting has such a distinct look as opposed to natural lighting. This week Joel shows us how to replicate a far away soft light source- the Sun. Modifiers, grids, strobes, bounces- its all out the window. Using a far away and high up Westcott TD-6 Spiderlight, Joel creates a studio style Sun light that bathes the model in a soft glowing light.
