🪡 Vicki and Annie are back to take a closer look at Episode 8 of The Great British Sewing Bee, as the sewers celebrate some of literature’s most iconic characters, stories and styles.
From Sherlock Holmes and Matilda to the Regency fashions inspired by Jane Austen, there’s plenty to discuss as they break down each challenge and share their thoughts on how the sewers tackled them.

🔎 Pattern Challenge:
The sewers take on one of literature’s most recognisable pieces of headwear as they create the iconic deerstalker associated with Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes.
Vicki and Annie discuss the construction, the techniques involved and the challenges the sewers faced, as well as looking at what went right, what went wrong and how they would approach the challenge themselves.
📚 Transformation Challenge:
The sewers are tasked with imagining Matilda as a grown-up, transforming second-hand school uniform into a completely new outfit inspired by the much-loved character.
Vicki and Annie explore the ideas behind the transformations, how effectively the materials were used and which designs caught their attention.
