British pianist Beatrice Nicholas puts a jazz-infused spin on Liszt’s Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2 as part of Classical Mondays at Upstairs at Ronnie’s, a weekly classical night at Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club curated by violinist Lizzie Ball.
Pianist Hazel Scott famously ‘jazzed up’ classical pieces, most notably this piece by Liszt’. Here, Nicholas performs her own arrangement, blending Scott’s version with a little Gershwin.
