Sandy Linzer & Denny Randell, the famous songwriting duo, released a couple of 45s in 1967-8 on Columbia consisting of songs that were actually full-band demos, made with The Monkees in mind. Keith (of 98.6 fame) had already recorded an earlier but similar version of "Sugar Man" for his second album, 'Out of Crank', in late '67. The Monkees never recorded this one of course and it didn't see any action on any chart.
This is the A-side of the second one, released in February 1968. Produced by Charlie Calello.
