In this video I will be discussing how to use the import feature on LingQ. I will be explaining how to import news articles, blog posts, podcasts, transcripts, Netflix shows, YouTube videos and ebooks.

To learn a language you need to expose yourself to as much of that language as possible - by being able to choose this exposure to be exactly what you want is one of the main reasons why LingQ is my favourite app to learn languages.

There are many different resources that you can use to increase you language learning to a more enjoyable, repeatable and learning intensive level.

Important Notes for this Video

1) Importing from LingQ (Articles) - There are many articles to choose from straight off the lingQ platform, however using the same method of the ling importer extension, any article you are able to read on the internet is a potential lesson on lingQ

2) Importing Podcasts / Blogs - As said above anything you can find available on the internet is a possible lesson, therefore keep an eye out for podcast transcripts that you can use and blog posts you're interesting in studying from

3) Importing Netflix shows - This is a useful option when you are looking to learn the common words in a new show (for example the first 1-2 episodes) however, because the lesson is disjointed from the show and you need to treat them separately I would recommend only studying the pilot episode and learn the vocabulary that will allow you to watch the rest of the series passively

4) Importing from Youtube - This is Hands-down the most useful feature. YouTube is a well of language content at your fingertips. You just need to know how to find the best videos for your purpose. As I mentioned you can go off peoples recommendations of good YouTubers for this purpose (I will make videos on this topic for the languages im focusing on as this is a huge part of my study routine), but another really good way is to tailor your learning to specific topics. E.g search a key word in your target language for a topic you're interested in, filter for subtitles and test around for accurately subtitled videos = gold mine for learning

5) Importing eBooks - ucl.ac.uk/slade/know/2979
This link will explain how to convert kindle books into EPUB needed for lingQ and also how to remove encryptions of the books so you can read them (there are other options that remove this step as I mentioned in the video however, this is not a recommendation only an option for you to choose if you wish ;) )
